Isabel Lamberti was born in Germany, but grew up in Spain and later on, the Netherlands. She studied Film science at the University Of Amsterdam and studied a year abroad at Tisch School of the Arts in New York. There she made her first film, which got her accepted into the film academy of Amsterdam. Her third year film ‘Flaming Red’ was shown at several international film festivals (Etiuda & Anima, Kurstendorf, London International Documentary Film festival, Fest: New directors, new films) and won the PZC jury price at the Film by the Sea festival in 2014. In her films, Isabel concentrates less on narrative story and more on creating worlds and painting landscapes to help symbolize the (inner)world of her characters. She has a preference for social realistic films and doesn’t like to make distinctions between documentary and fiction. VOLANDO VOY (I’ll fly higher), Isabel’s graduation film was selected at many festivals around the world, won the TORINO award at the prestigious film festival de San Sebastián and was sold to ARTE FRANCE. Isabel's latest short film AMOR was selected for the L'OR gouden kalf competion as well as the debut competition at the Netherlands Film Festival 2017. Isabel is currently developing a new short film called FATHER and her first feature film EL AZUL BAJO SUS PIES.
Isabel works as a freelance commercial video director, interviewer and researcher for companies like HALAL, RIDE, NRC MINDSHAKES, BLUE PRINT MEDIA, WOMEN INC. If you have a project waiting for her don't hesitate to contact her.
